If you could kiss five people in the world without it being considered cheating, who would they be?
Such was the question that we found ourselves asking as we bowled our second game two Fridays ago. Jenny listed off her quirky picks (Don McLean, John Cusack, that unnamed boy we all know, etc.) and Abby was slightly more conventional (Adam Pascal, John McCain?), but I left the question unanswered for the moment. Now, after some serious reflection, I give you... my list. The celebrity version, anyway.
1. Jude Law
I know what you're thinking. He's a no good, dirty cheater. But just try to stare at his face for thirty seconds without feeling your heart melt. It can't be done.
Hey, I know his whole deal for years is that he's androgynous and weird. But he's hot, androgynous, weird, and has allegedly assaulted his girlfriend. That has my next boy toy written all over it. Plus, Velvet Goldmine is one of my favorite movies.
3. Edmond Dantès (from The Count of Monte Cristo)
Uhh. This is the part where I mention that I'm an English major and watch you back away slowly. This book is my absolute favorite (and I've read a lot). If he was real and looked anything like Jim Caveizel? Move over, Mercedes.
4. Paul Bettany
Accent. Sense of humor. Talent. Good looking children. He's perfection, really. He and Jennifer Connelly are my favorite celebrity couple and he is one of my favorite actors.
I first saw PJW in Phantom of the Opera, but really fell in love with his performance as the closeted Joe Pitt in Angels in America. His voice is so soothing and his lips are fantastic. Ooh, baby, you can sing to me any time.
Honorable Mentions: John McCain, Josh Lucas, V (from V for Vendetta - yeah, he wears a mask), Colin Firth, Billy Crudup, Jake Gyllenhaal, Justin Theroux, Peter Sarsgaard, Barack Obama, Ewan McGregor, Elijah Wood.
And yours?

Great list. A long time ago, when Law was still married and when magazines praised him for being a brilliant... read more
